Muscular flaccidity should be distinguished from changes in muscle tone of pathological origin. This entails a lack of firmness in muscle tone, either localized (due to physical inactivity, aging, significant weight loss, etc.) or general (postpartum, post-immobilisation, etc.).Sagging skin may be caused by sudden changes in weight, aging, or pregnancy (especially in the abdomen). It tends to affect mainly the arms, inner face, thighs, knees, abdomen, and buttocks. It may or may not be accompanied by muscular flaccidity.CARBOXYTHERAPYThe increased vascularization in the area, produced by insufflation with CO₂ gas, as well as stimulation of collagen, bring about a tightening of the skin, extenuating the lack of firmness.MESOTHERAPYUsing the technique of multiple intradermal injections, we induce a mechanical effect, which derives from the microtrauma inflicted by the needle. Subsequent healing of these micropunctures gives us smoother skin, due to the scarring process which takes place. Additionally, we insert substances into the skin which have distinct tensioning effects, such as organic silicon or low crosslinked hyaluronic acid with or without amino acids and vitamins.RADIOFREQUENCYThis is the par excellence treatment for both muscular and cutaneous flaccidity. Electromagnetic radiation penetrates the tissues, heating them, and producing a controlled calorific effect conducive to remodeling of dermal collagen with tensioning, for increasing microcirculation, which facilitates venolymphatic drainage and results in reduced localized volume. Histological studies show that the stimulus of contracting collagen fibers, by heating the dermis, favors collagen production and remodeling via tensioning.
