It is the non-ablative fractional laser that allows us to make a skin resurfacing in virtually any area of the body. Its stimulation of collagen synthesis will improve the texture and quality of the skin in multiple conditions such as: acne scars, post-surgical scars, stretch marks, flaccidity and skin aging both facial and body.
This Nordlys Frax Pro 1550 laser system consists of a Diode with a wavelength of 1550 nanometers that can reach a depth in the dermis of 800 micrometers. This means skin rejuvenation at a deep level in the area of application.
When passing its handpiece (equipped with a tiny roller that rotates smoothly when sliding it), it shoots micro beams of diode laser on the surface where we move. These mini-shoots will cause microscopic columns of protein coagulation in the dermis, in simple terms we could say that they are microcolumns of burns that, although they are almost invisible to us, for the dermis which is very thin, they are a deep burn. The healthy skin around this micro-burn in column will repair the injured skin from the inside out.
This super healing of the skin will cause multiple benefits: the creation of new components of the skin by restoring the injured parts, the retraction of the tissue by this little burn that heals and a kind of physical peeling by removing the most superficial layers of the skin that are being eliminated (dead cells). But the most beneficial thing is the renewal of the skin that appears as rejuvenated and totally repaired. In fact, if we could see it by biopsy we would appreciate a skin with more collagen and better organized, with new and more elastic elastin fibers and less stratum corneum.
The good thing about the Frax 1550 Laser is that it can be applied all over the body, although the most common areas of application are for:
• Facial rejuvenation: improving the appearance of sun damaged and sagging skin, wrinkles, pigmented spots, facial injuries such as scars, acne marks and other small irregularities.
• Décolletage rejuvenation: Improving skin texture, preventing and/or attenuating wrinkles caused by aging or postural wrinkles such as those caused by sleeping on the side.
• Neck rejuvenation: Undoubtedly, the Frax 1550 laser is ideal to stimulate the regeneration of collagen fibers that will improve the texture and flaccidity of the skin of our neck.
Depending on the pathology and the size of the area to be treated, it can last between 15 and 45 minutes. At Clínica Áureo we use topical anesthesia in the form of a cream that the patient must apply before coming.
The number of sessions will always depend on the pathology, the condition of the skin and the individualized conditions of the patient.
Just after the treatment, the patient has a burning sensation and erythema (reddened face) for an hour or so, after that time there is no longer any discomfort and microcostrites appear, inconspicuous and rough to the touch, which may give the sensation of darker skin.
It is very important to take care of the skin in the following days with the repairing cream that we will provide you and that has sun protection incorporated, an important fact to take into account if you live in Palma de Mallorca. This cream should be used regularly for a week or 10 days, during which time the scabs will fall off and you will be scheduled for a skin check at the clinic to see how the healing process is evolving.
