What is chin dimpling?

Chin dimpling, also known as "chin dimpling" or "orange peel", is a condition in which the skin of the chin becomes uneven and has small depressions, similar to the appearance of an orange peel. This effect is due to hyperactivity of the mentalis or mentonian muscle.

This muscle is located in the chin and its main function is to elevate and protrude the lower lip. When the mentonian muscle is contracted excessively or repetitively, it can cause wrinkles with a textured appearance on the skin of the chin.

Post-treatment recommendations

• • Keep in an upright position: For at least 4 hours after treatment.
• • Do not perform intense exercise: During the first 24 hours.
• • Avoid exposure to sun and extreme heat: During the first 48 hours.

The effects of the neuromodulator begin to be visible 3 to 5 days after treatment, with a maximum effect reached in about two weeks. The results usually last between 4 to 6 months, depending on the muscular activity and metabolism of each patient.

Possible adverse effects

Although it is a generally very safe protocol, some side effects may occur, which include:
