Cosmetic medicine now offers many alternatives for treating and improving signs of aging. One of them in particular is the facial mesotherapy or facial vitamins technique and the therapeutic possibilities it offers for improving facial aesthetics.

What are facial mesotherapy?

Facial mesotherapy or facial vitamins is a medical procedure which involves injecting drugs into the papillary dermis, and acts both pharmacologically and by reflex reaction, owing to the stimulus of the needle. Proper injection technique and choice of product are essential to the end result of the treatment.

How long does the effect of the mesotherapy last?

The duration of effects differs for each individual, and depends on factors such as skin structure, lifestyle (e.g. tobacco, alcohol, sun exposure, and age). The result may be observed immediately after treatment, and gradually enhances over the following days, as the light initial inflammation reduces and the product's final rehydration is established; the effect achieved with a session cannot be assessed until a week or two later. It has been found that, after six months, most patients treated still retain 50-80% of the effect achieved.

This bioactive treatment perfectly complements any combined classical aging treatment strategy (filler, Botox, chemical peeling, etc.)

It consists of mesotherapy formulations combining different families of active ingredients:

  • • Coenzymes
  • • Nucleic acids
  • • Vitamin complexes
  • • Minerals
  • • Amino acids
  • • Antioxidants
  • • Non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid

How often should I apply the facial vitamin treatment?

Suitable treatment intervals should be established according to each patient's needs. Rejuvenation of mature skin requires more frequent treatment regimens than younger skin does, such that mature fibroblasts require more product than young ones.

Phase 1, or Initial Phase: four sessions, 7-15 days apart.

Phase 2, or Repair Phase: two sessions, one month apart.

Phase 3, or Maintenance Phase: one session every 2-6 months.
