The laser energy is applied to the skin through a small handpiece operated by the operator. The laser emits an intense beam of light that is absorbed by the tissue until it reaches the hair follicle, depositing the laser energy and destroying the matrix without damaging the surrounding tissue.
You will achieve permanent hair removal in less time and with fewer sessions, due to the fact that the Alexandrite Laser has more penetration and concentration power, thus being able to destroy the follicles that are located in the deepest layers of the skin.
Gentle hair removal treatments use the patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™), which prepares the skin for treatment by spraying a cooling burst of cryogen of varying duration into the top layer of skin a few milliseconds before the laser pulse. The DCD helps to make the treatment much more comfortable for patients and very well tolerated. Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before and 3-4 weeks after treatment. Do not bleach or tweeze in the 4-6 weeks before and after treatment.
The duration of the treatment varies depending on the number of areas to be depilated, ranging from 5 minutes, in the case of very small areas, to 1 hour, in the case of full body depilation.
The number of sessions required will depend on the colour and type of hair, the anatomical area and the skin tone. Usually between 4 and 6 sessions are needed to permanently remove the hair, although you will notice that a large part of the hair has fallen out after the first session.
Laser and light treatments have long been used safely in a variety of medical and aesthetic treatments. If simple precautions are taken, it is a very safe treatment and its side effects do not go beyond a slight reddening and/or irritation of the treated area, which will disappear within a few hours.
