At Clínica Áureo we want to offer our patients the best medical laser depilation service, and to that end we have the best technical equipment available. We are referring to the Vectus™ diode laser and its melanin index meter Skintel™.
The laser removes hair as follows: Hair and skin contain melanin, which is what gives them their color. When the light from the laser, set to a certain wave length and intensity, is applied on the hair shaft and stem, that energy is absorbed by the melanin, transforming into heat and affecting the stem cells located around the hair follicle. This is known as selective photothermolysis and it causes the destruction of the hair bulb without damaging adjacent tissue.
Why Vectus™?
There are currently several laser depilation types in existence which, depending on the wave length emitted, has a better effect on different types of hair. Super-diode laser Vectus™ is most efficient against thick, medium and thin hair, and also black, brown or light brown. It is the safest option for darker skin types.
Thanks to that laser and to Skintel™, the first and most accurate superficial skin melanin reader, we can adjust the laser energy parameters to a completely personalized setting for our patients, therefore removing hair from the darkest skins to the fairest, all year around, with most efficiency and minimal risk, always under the supervision of our specialized doctor in aesthetic medicine.

Unlike others, Vectus™, with a 1,35 in2 head instead of the usual 0,23 in2, widens and strengthens the heating area per shot, reducing the time it takes to apply (legs or back, 20 to 30 minutes). Thanks to its wide pulse, and its special “soft pulse” technology, it acts on stem cells more effectively and safely. Its photon recycling system catches the light scattered on the skin and sends them back to it, which makes it more efficient than other systems in the market by 25 to 50%. Most importantly, it reduces the amount of sessions and improves long-term efficiency.
