Lipo laser

What is Lipo Laser?

Laser-assisted liposuction is safer and more effective than traditional liposuction. Both procedures are used in the treatment of localised fat in the areas of the abdomen, buttocks, the inner surface of the thighs and knees, flanks, back and arms; and in both treatments the objective is reshaping the figure.

Lipo Laser is a minimally-invasive, non-surgical treatment in which local anaesthesia is used so that the patient does not require admittance to hospital or overnight observation; the patient can return home immediately after treatment. It involves a dissolution of accumulated fat by means of the heat from a laser and the subsequent suction of the liquidated fat through a small-gauge cannula.

How is it different to traditional liposuction?

First of all, we will use a local anaesthetic rather than the general anaesthetic that is used in other types of liposuction. Furthermore, the dissolution of fat is carried out by means of an optical fibre of only a few millimetres in diameter so that it can later be absorbed by a cannula of the same size. In traditional liposuction, the fat is broken up (not dissolved) using a much thicker cannula and is afterwards suctioned via another large-gauge cannula, which means that the incisions are much larger and the process much more traumatic. Finally, the heat given off by the laser will result in the tightening of the skin which will improve its appearance and prevent the dimples and indentations typical of traditional liposuction.

To sum up, better results in dissolving fat and tightening the skin and safer because the process is less traumatic and uses local anaesthesia. All this means that the patient’s recuperation is much faster and more comfortable, so that they can resume normal life after a few days.
